One, two, three and now four. The Geneva Cocktail Week is back for a fourth edition. It officially kicked off yesterday and will last until Sunday. Participating bars include Bottle Brothers, Blacksheep, Blacksheep Rive, Casa Tiki, Chat Noir, Little Barrel, Maison Balkii, Mambo Club, Mr. Barber, Shima (4Seasons), Le Verre à Monique and Voodoo Reyes
Like last year, the crop of Geneva’s cocktail bars are reunited in the form of pop-up bars in a single location for guests to easily sample – at a discount price – the drinks they have created especially for the event. MAPO Restaurant will offer solid sustainance. This year’s hub is the very central IceBergues, aka the Four Seasons Hôtel des Bergues pop up venue on the Ile Rousseau. Each evening will see special events happening. Wednesday was opening night with a DJ set; today is a Shake your Bergues afterwork party; tomorrow a hip hop party. The week will conclude with a Latino party on Saturday and a barkeeper competition on Sunday.
In the afternoon and evening, beverages companies and brands offer masterclasses about different types of spirits and mixers. There is also one about sustainability. You’ll find the full programme on the Geneva Cocktail Week’s Facebook page or here above, in the slideshow.
Brands are also partnering with the Geneva Cocktail Week participating bars to offer extra spirits masterclasses and themed nights around their products at their regular venues.
Also some bars have developed special concepts just for the cocktail week. It is notably the case of Bottle Brothers and Voodoo Reyes. The former offers a unique Cocktail and Music pairing. And, tomorrow, Katlin Bene, bar manager at Voodoo Reyes and World Class Diageo Champion Switzerland 2018, will give an already sold out cocktail masterclass with her colleague Arthur Brophy, bar manager at Le Verre à Monique.
